Virginia Tech’s Executive Master of Natural Resources program now hosts classes from Academic Building One in Alexandria, strengthening ties between sustainability leadership and tech-driven graduate education.

The new location for the courses brings sustainability-focused graduate education into closer collaboration with technology and innovation disciplines.

The program focuses on leadership in global sustainability and is part of the Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability in the College of Natural Resources and Environment. Its emphasis on sustainability complements the tech- and business-focused graduate programs that are located at Academic Building One. The shared environment fosters interdisciplinary learning across environmental and technical fields.

The move enhances the student experience and opens new avenues for collaboration. The facility includes collaborative spaces and technology-equipped classrooms, providing students with resources to support applied learning.

Co-located with other graduate programs allows for cross-disciplinary collaboration, enriching the Executive Master of Natural Resources curriculum. Students are exposed to entrepreneurial and systems-thinking approaches to sustainability through proximity to tech-oriented peers and faculty.

The program brings a sustainability perspective to an environment primarily focused on technology and innovation. The collaboration prepares graduates to address complex challenges at the intersection of environment, technology, and leadership.
